ALEX, ALENA & MILA | ALLISTON, ON
Today I am really missing those warm summer days. Yesterday we had such a taste of spring (a balmy 10 degrees here, and I heard it was 16 in Niagara! That’s unreal!) and it was just amazing. It puts you in a whole different mood when it’s not so bitterly cold outside for just one day. I think this was the break everyone needed for just one day!
I am super excited that Alena, Alex and Mila are up on the blog today, it really brings me back to those warm summer evenings when the sun is setting and it is just the perfect temperature outside. I loved photographing mom and dad walking through the field with their one year old baby girl, could you ask for anything more beautiful? I love the simplicity of these photos, and as always, I love the connection. In 2018, I am really excited to implement more connection during my family sessions. It’s documenting the relationships that are so so important to me during a family session.
I am so in love with this session’s tones and the filmy look I got. I shot this session on an older Nikon 50 1.4 lens and I got such a beautiful soft look to the photos. Some I think almost look like film! (Especially some of the black and whites, especially those are very film like to me!) We ended up shooting at Gibson Hills in Alliston, which was so wonderful because that’s where my sister had her wedding photos taken back in 2010, so it was pretty fun to get to go back to be the photographer rather than getting photographed as a bridesmaid! Funny how things come full circle! I am definitely planning on doing a session this upcoming year at Earl Rowe Provincial Park which is not even a 5 minute drive from Gibson Hills! Who wants to come join me for a family session there? If you’re answer is “heck yes!” contact me today and let’s set up a family photo shoot for you this year!
